Minute taking skills and experience are essential for this role

Office based role

A Business Support Officer is required to undertake a range of business support duties for a busy Social Care Team and attend Child Protection meetings in person and via Teams where family and professionals are in attendance, taking notes of discussions held and produce high quality notes outlining prevalent points raised and decision rationale. May be required to attend meetings off site with community settings e.g. schools.

Key responsibilities:

Give confidential administrative and secretarial support including arranging and servicing meetings, preparing agendas and taking minutes as needed.
Produce high quality notes outlining prevalent points raised and decision rationale.
Deal with enquiries, including technical queries about the service in line with procedures and protocols.
Collate and prepare management information as needed.
Work with nominated officers responsible for maintenance, repairs and security of designated buildings, giving administrative support as needed.
Give interactive WP support to the allocated service using digital, audio or copy typing.
Contribute to skills transfer activities by the demonstration of duties to support business continuity and to continually improve service.
Develop and maintain positive joint working relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders.
Give a professional and courteous reception service as needed.

Experience:

Minute taking skills and experience.
Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role or context and ideally within a public sector organisation.



Skills & Abilities:

Ability to minute take and convey discussion points in a clear written format.
Excellent communication, organisation and time management skills to manage a high workload whilst meeting statutory timescales.
Ability to manage a busy workload and demonstrate the ability to prioritise/reprioritise workloads as and when required to meet deadlines.
Ability to manage sensitive information and data whilst adhering to GDPR.
Able to demonstrate emotional resilience due to nature of meeting content.
Good knowledge of Microsoft Packages particularly Word and basic Excel.
