Summary

Payroll Manager

Edinburgh City Centre based | hybrid working available

Will consider either Full Time (5 days / 35 hours) or Part-Time (3 days / 21 hours) per week with potentially some flex to work between the two

Temp contract for a minimum of 3 months | more likely to run for 6 months

Pay rate up to £175 per day / £25.00 per hour (depending on experience)

Search Consultancy are currently working exclusively with this Edinburgh-based public sector client to recruit a Payroll & HR Systems Manager on a contract basis for a period of 3 to 6 months.

This role is expected to begin with a 2 week handover period from the incumbent payroll manager, the successful candidate will need to be able to pick up a complex payroll & reward structure quickly to take on this role!

Duties involved in this role will include:

  • Overall responsibility for the company's monthly payroll of over 300 staff, including pension payroll of over 300 - using Oracle Cloud Fusion
  • process, carrying out checks & approvals on a weekly basis.
  • Updating & manipulation of payroll & HR systems data - producing reports when required
  • Line management of a small Payroll team as part of the wider HR team
  • Other Payroll & wider HR duties as required

In order to be considered for this role your skills and experience should include:

  • Extensive previous Payroll experience with exposure to a diverse rewards & compensation structure, preferably from within the Public Sector - this experience is ESSENTIAL
  • Solid IT Skills including the full MS Office suite & Payroll systems experience - candidates with experience of Oracle Payroll would very much be preferred although this is not essential
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal - particularly written as this role will involve drafting important documents & letters
  • Excellent organisation & time management skills, with the ability to prioritise & complete a very busy workload effectively & on time
