Summary


An opportunity has arisen for a Band 3 Unit Administrator at the West London Renal and Transplant Centre based at Hammersmith Hospital.

This service is for patients who require urgent assessment and diagnostics but who may not need hospital admission. Patient who are able to access this unit are those who have been diagnosed with conditions which fall within the headings of: Acute Renal Failure; Nephrology; End Stage Renal Failure and Renal and Pancreatic Transplantation.

Referrals are received from GP surgeries, patients, Accident and Emergency departments and our Satellite and Outpatient Units. The aim of the unit is to promote early diagnosis of conditions and intervention planning to either prevent inappropriate admission to hospital or to identify patients in need of emergency care at the earliest possible opportunity.



The post holder will provide an effective and efficient secretarial and administrative service to the medical teams and the Specialist Nurses within the Renal Rapid Assessment Unit. You will need to demonstrate a high level of prioritising and organisational skills and be able to use your initiative to develop office support systems as required and to organise their own work load to meet local and Trust requirements adjusting priorities as necessary in negotiation with their line manager.

The post holder will be required to demonstrate excellent communication skills working across multidisciplinary members both locally, at trust level and in the community setting. They will be expected to deal with patients and relatives who are in contact with the department.
