Summary
We are launching a new and innovative operating model for the delivery of the West Midlands Ring & Ride services in the region, and we have a brand-new role for a Ring & Ride and Demand Responsive Transport Manager. In this role, you will establish and lead a new team, aiming to grow the service and increase customer satisfaction.
This critical role involves mobilising a new contract and implementing a new operating model, establishing robust processes and procedures and building a cohesive team. Working in collaboration with operational partners, technology providers and internal delivery teams including our customer experience team, you will manage the existing operation and the transition to this new model to bring about crucial changes to our services that provide essential transport for some of the most vulnerable citizens in the region.
This is a unique opportunity where you will initiate and execute a significant plan focused on improving our current service and driving positive change. To excel in this role, you must be customer-focused, results-oriented, and possess strong leadership skills.
What you will be doing.
- Accountable for the delivery of Ring and Ride and DRT services in the West Midlands Region.
- Implement and mobilise the New Target Operating Model.
- Design, implement and manage strong partnerships with multiple delivery partners.
- Plan, develop and deliver the West Midlands Ring & Ride Service and other DRT services.
- Ensure robust contracts and internal agreements are in place and effectively managed.
- Give direction and support the Customer Experience Lead to develop, establish, and manage an effective process for engaging, receiving and acting on feedback from passengers.
- Ensure that the safeguarding requirements of the service are fulfilled, recorded, monitored and regularly reviewed.
- Accountable for the £6.5 million annual budget, other revenue streams and any associated capital budgets for the provision of Demand Responsive Transport services in the region
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with MPs, locally elected members, senior officers, Local Authority Colleagues and other stakeholders.
- Effective leadership and management skills.
- Experience of contract mobilisation, management and a track record of negotiating and influencing.
- Experience of establishing and maintaining effective multi-disciplinary partnerships to deliver a customer focused service.
- Experience of establishing processes and procedures for the effective management of public transport services.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate at all levels.

The location for this role is 16 Summer Lane. It is expected that you can split your time between the office and working remotely, with at least 2 days a week spent in the office. Please note, this is the minimum expectation.
