Summary
The post holder will be working within a large multidisciplinary team of doctors, nurses, social workers, psychologists, psychotherapists and creative therapists. The service receives referrals for young people up to the age of 18 from General Practitioners, Social Workers, Education and Paediatricians.
The post will be approximately half time supporting the ADHD team and half time in CAMHS.
The administrative base is in Kimberworth Place in Rotherham. Most of the clinical work will take place at the central clinical base. However, the post holder will be required to undertake assessments elsewhere, for example, Paediatric Wards, A & E, schools, GP surgeries, occasional home visits. We have adopted a hybrid model of working so some remote working and working from home is now normal practice.
The post holder will be expected to provide appropriate care to patients within the Rotherham area mainly through working closely with the multidisciplinary team through the assessment and treatment of appropriate patients.
2. Provide consultation on individual cases where psychiatric opinion is needed to members of the Rotherham multidisciplinary CAMHS team.
3. Attend a weekly CAMHS MDT Clinical Meeting, in which the above patients are discussed.
4. Attend multiagency meetings and Team around the Child etc as required.
5. Provide first line psychiatric cover for urgent cases, usually as requested by the Crisis Team, as part of the junior doctor Duty Rota.
6. Provide medical support to the Nurse-led ADHD team. This will include prescribing and monitoring ADHD medication, alongside the ADHD nurses.
7. Patient contact will take place mainly in outpatient clinics but may also occur in other community settings including A&E or paediatric wards at the Rotherham District General Hospital. Appointments may also occur remotely via MS Teams or sometimes by telephone.
8. Provide on-going monitoring and pharmacological treatments in ADHD, depression, OCD, etc.
