The School of Civil Engineering & Built Environment, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) in partnership with Colas ltd, and Liverpool City Council are involved in delivering ADEPT Live Labs 2: Decarbonising Local Roads in the UK and are looking to appoint a Product Development Engineer for 18 months.

The project partners are collaborating in delivering sustainable solutions with minimum CO2 emission for the construction and maintenance of the UK's roads and highways transport infrastructure as a part of the currents ADEPT Live Labs 2: Decarbonising Local Roads in the UK. The Group has excellent R&D facilities, giving them access to innovative new products, processes, and ideas.

ADEPT has developed Live Labs 2 to support the transition to net zero carbon local roads. We will be collaborating with ambitious, local highways authority-led partnerships from across the UK to develop and implement zero carbon and climate change focused local roads plans. We are looking to appoint a graduate as a Product Development Engineer to run this project. You should have:

  • Minimum BSc (Hons) in Civil Engineering with high 2.1 or preferably first class.
  • Ideally MSc in Civil Engineering or PhD in Road Pavement Engineering.
  • Experience in pavement engineering laboratory testing, emulsion technology, Warm mix asphalt and Hot mix asphalt.
  • Able to nurture research in a practical application.
  • Good numerical, communication and report writing skills, and able to assimilate and present data with accuracy and attention to detail.
