As a Arboriculture Groundsperson/Climber, you will be expected to:
• carry out various arboriculture works to trees located in domestic and communal gardens which Sovini Property Services working as part of a team of tree surgeons.
• ensure high quality performance is delivered.
• adhere to contract programmes and ensure target times are achieved.
• manage workloads efficiently.
• assist in the maintenance and cleaning of all plant and machinery where possible.
• Ensure all works are carried out and completed to a high standard and conform to industry standards.
• Provide regular updates on progress to works completed to management staff.
• identify specific needs for customers and ensure the service is tailored accordingly.
• build and maintain professional working relationships with colleagues.
• identify ideas to continually enhance and improve service.
• develop Sovini’s commitment to equality and diversity and to promote
non-discriminatory practices in all aspects of work undertaken.
• Duties amongst other things will include various types of tree pruning, felling and stump grinding.

To be successful in a Arboriculture Groundsperson/Climber role, the skills you will need:
• NPTC CS30 Chainsaw maintenance and cross cutting or new units 201 & 202
• NPTC CS31 Fell small trees or new unit 203
• NPTC CS32 Fell medium trees or new unit 301
• NPTC CS38 Climb trees and perform an aerial rescue or new units 206 & 306
• NPTC CS39 Chainsaw from rope and harness or new unit 308
• NPTC CS41 Award to undertake sectional dismantling or new unit 309
• Safe use of manually fed woodchipper (NPTC or Lantra)
• Safe use of a stump grinder (NPTC or Lantra
• Experience of a similar role previously either for a contractor or directly for a housing association
• Ability to work as part of a team and demonstrate proactive approach to the achievement of team goals
• Ability to work independently and unsupervised and demonstrate initiative and acceptance of responsibility
• Excellent organisation skills including the ability to prioritise and manage own workload, meet deadlines and achieve targets
• Ability to liaise effectively with people at all levels within the organisation and externally
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• High level of customer service skills
• Flexibility to work outside of conventional hours when required.
• Full, clean driving license preferably with category BE allowing you to tow a trailer. Please highlight if you have this on the application form.
• Commitment to customer care and the provision of a high quality service
• A high level of self motivation, enthusiasm
• Excellent communication skills, able to communicate across multiple channels including Microsoft Teams, Face to Face and Email.

Experience or Knowledge of the below would be advantageous but not essential:
• NPTC CS33 Fell large trees or new unit 301
• NPTC CS34 Sever individual uprooted trees or new unit 302
• NPTC CS35 Sever multiple wind blown trees or new unit 302
• NPTC CS36 Breakdown of a broad leaved crown or new unit 204
• NPTC CS40 Pruning or new unit 307
• NPTC CS48 Powered pole pruners or new unit 205
• PA1 and PA6 Qualification
• Good knowledge and understanding of industry standards in particular BS3998 – British Standard for tree works
