Job Title: Senior Development Manager

Location: London, Farringdon

Salary: £77,307 - £81,376

Key Responsibilities and Outcomes:

  • Timely and Budget-Conscious Delivery: Ensure schemes are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, meeting all HE/GLA contractual obligations.
  • Audit Compliance: Take responsibility for scheme audits (internal, external, GLA, HCA) and ensure audit compliance.
  • Cost Control: Maintain strict control over all scheme costs, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded, checked, and authorised.
  • Contract Monitoring: Oversee contract variations, ensuring costs remain within the contract sum, and highlight any changes to the Head of Delivery.
  • Tendering Procedures: Ensure adherence to tendering procedures and proper execution of contracts and development agreements in line with Standing Orders.
  • Cashflow Management: Regularly update cashflows, exercise excellent budgetary control, and report variances as necessary.
  • Reporting: Prepare and deliver reports to clients or Head of Delivery as required.
  • Consultant Management: Manage external consultant teams through planning, design, and construction of new projects, ensuring high standards and robust reporting.
  • Reporting and Presentation Skills: Provide exceptional report writing and presentation skills, and comfortably present to senior management.

Skills / Experience / Knowledge:

  • Degree Qualified: Ideally in a related field.
  • APM (PMQ) Qualification: Or equivalent construction related qualification, desirable.
  • Track Record: Minimum 5 years senior delivery level proven track record of managing delivery of complex, multi-tenure schemes, on time and within budget.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent client-facing communication skills.
  • Analytical Abilities: Strong intellect with the ability to analyse project situations reaching well-formed conclusions swiftly.
  • Negotiation Skills: Excellent negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Reporting and Presentation: Exceptional report writing and presentation skills.
