What will the successful candidate be doing:
The Performance Improvement Advisor will act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Corrective Action Programme (CAP). They ensure that the CAP is effectively implemented within assigned Operating Units, Programmes or functional groups. The PI Advisor ensures the effective reporting, investigating and correcting of issues impacting on safety, security, reliability and performance.
The Ideal Candidate:
* Provide a high level of customer service, challenge and oversight for the corrective action programme in their area.
* Ensures the effective reporting, investigating and correcting of issues impacting on safety, security, reliability and performance in line with Sellafield Ltd's (SL) obligations.
* Develop and maintain effective relationships with key internal stakeholders to understand CAP needs, influence behaviours and promote the added value / outcomes of Performance Improvement to drive continuous improvement and prevent loss.
* Lead / participate in event investigations and learning events to enable informed decision making based on output from CAP and contribute to the development of improvement programmes / activities to close identified gaps.
* Ensure effectiveness reviews are planned, conducted and acted upon effectively to provide assurance that corrective actions address the cause(s) of the problem.
* Lead CAP oversight and assurance activities (including Key Performance Indicators) within assigned area to ensure compliance with relevant obligations and management system arrangements, adequate performance and effective provision of outcomes; provide feedback to customer on local CAP performance and escalate any issues or good practice.
* Deliver training and coaching to enable customers to proactively engage with CAP systems and contribute to continuous performance improvement.
* Oversee completion of CAP processes amongst customers at a senior level to ensure standards are maintained, promoted and contribute to the development of improvement programmes to close identified gaps.
* Engage in analysis of trends and support to self-assessment activities, working with teams to help them to understand issues, causes and solutions to enable informed improvement decisions.
* Apply problem solving and self-assessment tools to help customers identify improvements and sustainable solutions to close identified gaps.
* Contribute to the identification of learning opportunities and produce reports on recommendations to be shared throughout the organisation and externally to contribute towards wider performance improvements.
* Contribute to regulatory inspections, peer reviews and benchmarking activities, providing information to explain events and corrective actions and demonstrate compliance.
Essential Skills:
*Degree level of education or significant relevant experience. For internal candidates, suitable relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of formal qualifications.
* Knowledge of all health, safety, environmental and business obligations and processes.
* Knowledge of Sellafield interactions with external Regulators and stakeholders
* Experience of Performance Improvement in highly regulated industry.
* Influencing and stakeholder management skills; able to build effective relationships with business leaders at Head of Operations level and below.
* Ability to form effective working relationships with key internal stakeholders, using personal influence to achieve optimised outcomes
* Detailed knowledge of Performance Improvement and significant practical application experience in applying / interpreting nuclear safety and security processes, conducting investigations and providing advice on gaps and improvements.
Desirable Skills
* Experience of working on a Nuclear licenced site.
* Professional accreditation in relevant profession.
* NEBOSH certificate.
