The Opportunity:

We have an exciting and challenging opportunity for an experienced Contracts and Projects Manager to provide people and service management to the Contracts & Projects team and Parks & Open Spaces Officer, ensuring the smooth delivery of projects and managing all Operations Service contracts.

The Role:

Taking ownership of the management of a number of projects relating to the Operations Service, including capital, annual plan and some S.106 projects, you will lead the team in ensuring projects remain on track, with minimal slippages, and manage their finances, as well as having final sign off with financial trackers and budget sheets.

You will also oversee your team to carry out programmed inspections of operational sites across the District, ensuring routine maintenance and repairs are completed on time and to specification, and manage the Operations Contracts Register, including contract renewals and contract implementation within agreed timeframes.

The Experience You Will Bring:

This role requires previous experience in effective team management. In a busy, constantly moving team with multiple responsibilities, you must have proven team management skills and the ability to develop your staff. The ability to maintain strong professional relationships with other departments is also a must for this post.

Operations is a fast paced and varied Service within the Council, and this post would suit a highly motivated individual with a 'thinking outside the box,' proactive and 'can do' attitude. We are looking for an individual who is not averse to a challenge and has excellent organisation and prioritisation skills. Excellent interpersonal skills and proven experience with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word and Power Point is a must.

Candidates should possess a full clean driving licence and access to their own vehicle.
