Summary

About the Employer

I'm a friendly and easy-going male in my mid-fifties. I use a powerchair to get around the house most of the time due to a spinal Stenosis and other related conditions, I can walk short distance with crutches at home. I'm quite independent, but I appreciate the help when needed. I enjoy getting out and about, especially for shopping and relaxing coffee shop visit. I'm a good conversationalist and always happy to chat. I am married he also has physical health problems as well. We have no children. We recently lost our beloved cat and will be finding a new furry friend shortly. * Additional hours may be available which can be discussed further at interview. We anticipate the 6 hours a week being worked over 3 days, working days and hours will be discussed further at interview.

• The individual keeps pets in the home: We are looking to home a cat.

About the Role

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Support and/or prompt the individual to take medication.
• Assist with household chores and general homemaking.
• Develop a good and trusting one to one working relationship.

The individuals needs may vary from day to day and your tasks may reflect this. You could be required to perform other duties as reasonably required.

You have a responsibility as an employee to report all accidents to the employer immediately. You have a duty to report defects and / or hazards which may give rise to an accident. You are to ensure the safety of the individual at all times.

Due to the nature of the work for which you are applying, this post is subject to a satisfactory DBS disclosure (costs will be covered).

• Previous caring experience is preferred and you should have a genuine interest in supporting people with a disability/illness to achieve their goals.
