We are looking for Support Workers to come and join our Service based in Chesterfield, Derbyshire on a permanent basis. We are a 24/7 service, and our shifts patterns range from 7 to 10am, 10am to 3pm, 3pm to 9pm, 3pm to 10pm plus a sleep. Working as part of a established team on a four-week rolling rota so you will always know you shift pattern ahead of time.
We are in a position where we can offer contracts from relief where you can pick up shifts depending on your availability, 12 to 37.5 hours on the rolling rota.
You will receive an enhanced flat rate payment of £61.20 for any sleep in shifts carried out. The payment for sleep ins is non-contractual.
This service is home to four individuals with various support needs and wants. The service is supported 24/7 and includes a sleep shift. There is an opportunity to work across our other services within the area if this is of interest to you to gain further skills and experience.
** Please note that we are not in a position where we are able to offer sponsorship at this current time due to the hourly rate paid. This is under review and we hope to be able to offer this in the near future **
What does a Support Worker do?
As a Support Worker you will be expected to provide an outstanding level of support that will help to ensure the people we support live a more comfortable, dignified, liberated and happy life. You will have excellent communication skills and be a naturally caring and patient personality. Typical responsibilities may include:
- Supporting people to live independently – budget management, paying bills, housework, organising appointments and cooking delicious healthy meals.
- Excellent communication skills and Relationship building – supporting the people we support to understand the world around them and promoting positive relationships.
- Community & Social Inclusion - supporting individuals to access and participate in their local community and social events to promote life skills and individuality.
- Personal care - helping people to get ready for the day. This may include prompting the people we support to take their medication and assisting with intimate personal care such as bathing, showering and using the bathroom.
