If so, we are looking for dedicated MOT Product Specialist's to join us at the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA), and we’d love to hear from you.

As an MOT Product Specialist, you will work within the MOT Testing Service Policy Team. You will play a key role in the MOT Service Management Team to ensure that all elements of the MOT services meet legislative, customer, stakeholder and DVSA needs.

You will provide support and advice to DVSA staff, our customers, and stakeholders on MOT policies and procedures. You will also play a key role in to developing and integrating new policies and procedures to improve the service.

You may also be required to work as a subject matter expert within our digital teams to deliver MOT related digital products, training will be provided to assist them to do this.

We put user needs at the heart of what we do, the role holder will need to understand views from numerous and sometimes differing perspectives while remaining creative with solutions. Part of the Policy Digital & Data directorate, MOT has a large digital element to it and is a top 75 service on GOV.UK

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Work with the Product Managers to develop MOT products and policies from inception through to implementation and if necessary, closure.
  • Analyse product data and information to highlight the benefits of changes by outlining costs, benefits, risks, and potential responses to each, seeking input from stakeholders to inform decision making and help build engagement.
  • Work with the policy manager and service owner to maintain backlogs of work in line with user needs, help to articulate these backlogs in the form of roadmaps and service plans across DVSA and externally.
  • Ensure clear articulation of what is required from operational delivery and digital delivery teams which will include setting technical standards, quality expectations, test procedures, policies and service levels.
  • Participate proactively in meetings that will include senior managers from both internal and external stakeholder groups.
