Job Summary:

Responsible for site housekeeping, supporting external contractors, Efficient running of the workshop and supporting projects as required. Operation and inspection of plant and machinery.

Outline and Responsibilities:

Operating plant and equipment, including hire equipment, monitoring the serviceability of equipment and reporting any issues or issues to the Facilities Manager. This can include:

- Moving plant around the facility
- Offloading delivery vehicles (by forklift truck and overhead crane
- Assisting in placement of project structures


Carry out pre use daily checks on all vehicles before use:

- Reporting any damage of vehicles
- Updating vehicle paperwork to show vehicle condition to users
- Filling out inspection paperwork and filing as required
- Relevant Licences required


Preparation of workshop to suit project requirements:

- Setting up designated project areas with equipment and items identified by Supervisors and Management, also clearing and cordoning areas as required.


Painting of equipment and fabrications:

- Mixing paint
- Preparing surfaces
- Priming surfaces
- Painting surfaces


Inspection, Reporting and Recording of in house equipment (Post Training) of:

- Ladders
- Steps
- Overhead Cranes
- Fuel Bunds (1000 Litre Tanks)
- Spill Kits


Collection of workshop waste, throughout site facility, ensuring waste streams are observed and waste disposed of into appropriate recycling bins.

Preparing COSHH waste items for collection by waste management companies, segregating, wrapping and loading.

General repair and maintenance tasks for IHC facilities as detailed by Facilities Manager.

Movement and re-location of company assets across sites and offices, using appropriate plant and vehicles.

Maintain paint stores and manage:

Stock Levels

- Removing life expired and unserviceable paints
- Re-ordering stock as required
- Ensuring MSDS sheets and COSHH information is up to date and reflects current stock.


Transportation of equipment to and from suppliers, calibration companies and between IHC destinations

Escort, advise and support external contractors whilst carrying out:

- Inspections
- Servicing
- Contract work
- Emergency repairs

Out of hours callouts to site in response to:

- Utility Loss
- Site inspection following severe weather
- Fire system activation
- Assisting and supporting project staff in the event of specialised vehicle assistance


Assist the Facilities Manager in controlling site and company assets.

Work collaboratively with all functions in the company to deliver the project in the most efficient way possible.

Positively comply with all HSE requirements and participate in identifying and raising HSE concerns by use of systems such as SHARP cards, Near Miss Reports, etc.

Support a continuous improvement culture; ensure that issues are identified and logged by use of company tools such as non-conformance reporting, lessons learnt etc.

Any other duties as directed by line management or SMT member.

Experience and Qualifications:

Skills:

- Versatile and flexible approach to work
- Communication (verbal and written)
- Physically fit
- Plant inspection
- Able to work at height
- Basic computer literacy

Qualifications:

- Certified to operate workshop plant and machinery
- Mobile plant/forklift/driving licence
- Telehandler License (Desirable)

Experience:

- Experience of similar role in and engineering and/or industrial environment
- Able to work independently and as part of a team, as required by the role
- Common sense approach to workload and able to prioritise tasks according to workload and
- environment

A flexible approach in order to work shifts, as required to meet project deadlines and company needs.

The role may involve some national travel and may occasionally require periods of working away from home
