Your new role
As a Microbiology Technician, you'll play a crucial role in diagnosing illnesses, conducting laboratory experiments, and analysing microorganisms. Your responsibilities will include:
- Performing laboratory experiments for diagnostic purposes.
- Supervising biological technicians and ensuring accurate results.
- Isolating and studying bacteria and other microorganisms.
- Classifying microorganisms found in collected specimens.
- Monitoring the effects of microorganisms on animals, plants, and the environment.
- Staying up-to-date by researching scientific findings and attending conferences.
- Publishing research papers and presenting findings to peers and the public.
What you'll need to succeed
- Bachelor's degree in Microbiology or related field.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with laboratory equipment and techniques.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
