Summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic Library Systems Assistant to join the New City College library team based at our Ardleigh Green Campus with occasional working at our other nearby sites at Wingletye Lane and Rainham.
This is a new post, designed to support the work of the Group Library Systems Manager in delivering the LRC’s electronic resources provision, virtual learning environment (VLE) and intranet presence. You will ensure that these systems run efficiently, in addition to providing accurate and timely reports.
This role would suit candidates with experience in a library setting, either public or academic, looking to move into a more technical role. Duties include library software support; basic trouble-shooting and reporting using the library management systems (Heritage); updating VLE pages with content; supporting users in accessing the eResources collection and basic library circulation duties.
You should possess a strong customer-focus, good IT skills and have good organisational and communication skills, the ability to manage your own workload with minimal supervision, and enjoy working with young people in a customer-focused environment.
You need to be educated to A-level equivalent standard and be passionate about delivering a high-quality service. A computing or library qualification is desirable.
