Summary


Assistant Psychologist – Carer pathway in Psychosis

We are looking for an enthusiastic, compassionate and friendly Assistant Psychologist to join the Southwark CMHTs on a full-time permanent basis.The post holder’s main duties will include the delivery of psychological interventions for carers of service-users with psychosis under the care of the four CMHT’s across the borough of Southwark. They willprovide clinical work as required by the service, under the clinical and professional supervision of a practitioner psychologist.Assist in clinically related administration, conduct of audits, collection of statistics, development of audit and/or research projects, teaching and project work.Lastly, they will be expected to work at an appropriate level of independence, following clinical guidelines and the policies and procedures of the service, and seeking help from clinical/professional supervisor or manager as required.

We are looking for a Band 5 Assistant Psychologist to join the Southwark CMHT teams, to support us in delivering accessible and beneficial psychological interventions for the carers and family members of individuals living with a diagnosis of psychosis. This will involve delivering:
• Psychological assessments, low intensity psychological interventions, individual and group
• Management of the waiting list for carer's support and liaison with CMHT colleagues
• Clinically related administration, conduct of audits, collection of statistics, development of audit and/or research projects, teaching and project work.

Within Southwark there are four Community Mental Health Teams who support individuals and families experiencing complex and severe mental illness. The remit of these multidisciplinary teams is to work collaboratively with service users and carers to promote engagement with treatment, and to facilitate social inclusion and recovery.

We are a team committed to making our interventions accessible and acceptable to all members of our local community, including focusing on anti racist practice, and using a range of models and approaches.

We welcome applications from individuals passionate about working with carers and families of those with lived experience of psychosis, who are eager to be part of a committed team and ready to give their own contributions to service developments and innovations.
• To assist practitioner psychologists in the delivery of a specialist applied psychology service in STEP.
• To provide clinical work as required by the service, under the clinical and professional supervision of a practitioner psychologist.
• To assist in clinically related administration, conduct of audits, collection of statistics, development of audit and/or research projects, teaching and project work.
• To work as at appropriate levels of independence, following clinical guidelines and the policies and procedures of the service, and seeking help from clinical/professional supervisor or manager as required.
