About this opportunity

This exciting role offers the opportunity to head up the Capital Planning, Insight & Analysis team in the centre of our Finance community. Guiding a team of 10 finance professionals you'll be responsible for the delivery of critical capital outputs to the Group Executive Committee, including monthly capital performance reporting, capital plans and forecasts and strategic insights to support capital management and optimisation activities.

Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Build a successful team, ensuring effective leadership and development; be part of a Leadership Team, encouraging a clear common purpose across a wider team of approximately 60 colleagues.

  • Capital Outputs: Deliver monthly Group level capital outputs and capital plans, forecasts and stress testing related outputs across the Group and main legal entities

  • Capital Metrics Insight: Own insights into capital metrics, influencing capital management and optimisation decisions.

  • External Reporting: Support messaging in external reporting and strategic analysis.

  • Finance Transformation: Influence Finance transformation initiatives.

  • Process Controls: Maintain and improve controls across reporting processes.

  • Operational Improvements: Deliver operational enhancements and adopt new tools and technologies.

What you'll need

  • As a qualified finance professional you have a track record in delivering financial analysis, controls, and risk management. Ideally you also have regulatory capital or impairment knowledge

  • With an understanding of the wider Financial Services industry, you'll bring a strong understanding of commercial drivers; your analytical ability will allow you to drive a deep and detailed understanding of drivers to provide valuable insight

  • As a people leader, you'll have experience in fostering a positive culture and creating a successful impactful team

  • As a collaborator you'll build strong working relationships with diverse partners and senior management, balancing collaboration with constructive challenge.

  • Your focus on operational improvements will ensure you drive a continuous improvement culture, actively address feedback, operational improvements and data quality issues.

  • Your strong coordination skills will allow you to deliver time-critical outputs to senior audiences across divisions and central teams.
