Overview:
The London Borough of Sutton is seeking an experienced Head of Financial Planning and Major Projects to join our team on an interim basis. This pivotal role will involve leading Kingston Council's medium-term financial planning and providing crucial finance support for major capital projects, including the redevelopment of the Cambridge Road Estate.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead a newly established team following a recent restructure to support financial planning and major projects.
Oversee Kingston Council’s medium-term financial planning, ensuring strategic alignment and fiscal responsibility.
Provide finance support for major capital projects, particularly the redevelopment of the Cambridge Road Estate.
Work closely with senior management to ensure financial strategies meet organizational goals.
Hybrid working model with 1-2 days a week expected in Kingston Borough; occasional (once every 2 months) attendance at Sutton as part of a shared management team.
Requirements:
Proven experience in financial planning and managing major capital projects.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide and develop a newly established team.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
Relevant professional qualifications in finance or a related field.
