This is a great opportunity to join Suffolk County Council's Children and Young People's Service as a Project Officer supporting the Early Help System Partnership Forum.
- Would you like to work in an incredibly varied, challenging and rewarding role?
- Are you passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of children and young people in Suffolk?
- Do you have a good understanding of support services for children and families and are you able to work in a multi-agency space, being responsible for lots of different areas of work alongside generating input from partners?

If you answered yes to these questions, we would love to hear from you!
Suffolk has a diverse range of early help providers but lacks a mechanism for leaders to come together to identify and drive forwards changes in Suffolk's early intervention and prevention approach. We are in the early stages of establishing a forum to build on the existing strengths and resilience of partnership organisations, so that together we can meet the diverse range of needs, and to improve outcomes for children, young people, and families within our community. Over the next year we need to strengthen the collective understanding of the early intervention and prevention sector, promote this as an approach, and implement the priorities for change.

Your role and responsibilities
This job sits within the Suffolk's Safeguarding Partnership which is a small but busy team, and you will be responsible for leading and engaging in co-production and consultation activities with parents and partners, establishing project management processes to support the Early Help system forum, sub-groups and strategy development. Your role will be varied, and you’ll need to be confident in managing multiple workstreams and using self-directed initiative to prioritise. You will be given the freedom and trust to manage your workloads independently whilst meeting deadlines, alongside support and line management from the chair of the forum (Head of Service - Family Support) with a close working relationship with the SSP Partnership Manager.
Your role will be fundamental to leading this change as you will be:
- delivering transformation programmes to strengthen connections, improve partnership working, and systems to help families navigate access to early help support
- working and leading partners to establish and deliver project sub-groups, undertake follow up actions and reporting processes.
- undertaking consultation and co-production activities with families and stakeholders, including local agencies such as VCFSE, to create an Early Help system strategy and priority action plan
- engaging with working groups to improve multi-agency collaboration so that Suffolk has a clearer focus on early intervention and prevention support for families
- establishing project management documentation, planning and reporting processes, distributing agendas, minutes and undertaking follow up actions
- identifying project-level risks and taking decisions on any changes required to address these.

We are looking for:
- a driven, self-motivated person who likes a challenge and can achieve outcomes in a short timeframe
- demonstrable project management experience in coordinating diverse groups of partners to effectively deliver projects on time and within budget
- excellent relationship-building, negotiation, and communication skills, both verbal and in writing
- an experienced, adaptable and a self-starting Project Officer with the ability to accelerate the pace of this development by working closely with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
- someone skilled in sourcing data and producing reports based on evidence or impact and implementing proposals to support improvements.

You can view a full list of requirements in the Job and Person Profile (docx). If you believe you can succeed in this role, apply. Even if you don't meet all requirements, still apply. We would appreciate the opportunity to consider your application.

We will offer you:
- a chance to shape our council's early intervention and prevention strategies
- the ability to support and challenge partners to enhance children's outcomes
- collaboration with multi-agency partners, expanding your network and career prospects
- role-specific training and growth opportunities
- insight into Suffolk's safeguarding practices

The team
This role will sit within the Suffolk Safeguarding Partnership which is a dynamic and diverse group of professionals supporting the operational teams develop children, young people and adult services influencing practice and driving forwards our commitment to improve outcomes for children and young people across Suffolk.
