Summary


Applications are invited from an enthusiastic and dynamic team player for the appointment of a Post CCT Radiologist with an interest in Gastrointestinal Radiology to work in a dynamic team in a large GI Tertiary Centre at the Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. Consideration will be made for Radiologists applying from overseas.



There are 20 GI radiologists in the trust across all sites, all of whom are very motivated, which provides a fantastic learning environment. The appointed fellow will have the opportunity to engage and work with the entire team to gain valuable experience. There will be a dedicated clinical supervisor to provide support during the programme. This is in addition to an educational supervisor who will overlook the fellowship programme across all specialities.



The department has a well-established fellowship programme across different specialities. The appointed fellow will have the chance to work with a larger team at their level.

Intervention

Direct supervision and training up to and beyond level 2 FRCR curriculum skills level for a wide range of complex Nonvascular interventional procedures including biliary intervention, renal tract intervention, endoluminal intervention, including oesophageal stenting and dilatation, colonic stenting, ureteric stenting, gastrostomies and jejunostomies.



Interventional will also include image guided diagnostic and therapeutic intervention including ultrasound and CT guided biopsies and drainages. We frequently perform rendezvous procedures with clinicians and surgeons in theatre.



We are the only centre performing hepatic and renal tumour ablation under CT and US guidance, in radiology or in theatres with surgical teams.





Diagnostics

Successful applicants will have the opportunity to report complex diagnostic radiological examinations. Such as complex CT & MRI cross section, fluoroscopy and ultrasound examinations including state of the art contrast enhanced and bowel ultrasound.



MFT is the regional centre for Hepatobiliary oncology with direct access to PET imaging and complex diagnostic studies, such as Endoscopic Ultrasound. Applicants are expected to participate in and present cases at the MDT.



There are multiple other oncology and benign MDTs that take place across the trust, including colorectal, upper GI, chronic liver disease, Inflammatory bowel disease and HCC. Successful applicants will be expected to prepare and present at these MDTs.
