We're currently looking for a talented and driven Technical Manager with Environmental and Project Management experience to join our Environmental Due Diligence team in Ireland or the UK.

We operate a hybrid working model which for us means typically 3 days in the office or on site and 2 days at home (depending on the need for site visits/client meetings).



What does the role involve?

This is a client facing role with full responsibility for commercial and technical delivery of projects, collaborating with the Sweco Ireland Environmental team and European network of 22,000+ consultants.

As a key player in the Environmental Compliance team, you’ll project manage a range of environmental projects, liaising with clients, regulators and stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of environmental deliverables. You’ll provide expert environmental advice relating to environmental assessment and management into design and construction of major infrastructure projects in the private sector.

You will also prepare and submit technical reports including Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIAR), environmental due diligence, regulatory compliance and research whilst growing Sweco's presence in environmental consulting and cross selling our multi-disciplinary services along with tendering and winning work. You will work closely with our inhouse teams as well as co-ordinating external sub-consultants where required.



To be successful in this role you’ll have:

A comprehensive understanding/capability within the field of EIA (in Ireland or the UK), across the spectrum of environmental topics.
Experience in Environmental Due Diligence is preferable along with experience of Data Centre projects.
A proven track record in negotiating and winning work in the local market.
Excellent communication skills, including the ability to maintain and foster strong customer relationships.
Knowledge/experience of financial and technical management of projects.
Experience of working with multi-disciplinary teams on a range of complex environmental projects.
Good problem solving/contingency planning skills with the ability to find quick, innovative and practical solutions.
Proficient in the use of software packages including MS Office, MS Project etc.
A degree in Environmental Science, Engineering or related discipline and be chartered (or in the processes of gaining chartership) with a relevant professional body such as Engineers Ireland, IEMA, CIWM or CIWEM.
A full drivers licence.
