Redbridge Libraries, managed by Vision RCL, is seeking a creative, engaging, and highly motivated Centre Manager to join our library team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an award-winning service.

As the Centre Manager of our flagship Redbridge Central Library, you will oversee the operations of this busy and high-performing site, consistently ranked among the busiest libraries in London. The site is also home to the borough’s reference collection, Lab Central digital makerspace, Hub Central information and advice centre and Redbridge Museum and Heritage Centre.

In this role, you will lead a results-focused team, maintaining the highest level of customer service, ensuring services support the needs of our diverse community and promoting the usage of facilities, events and resources. Collaboration with partners to create an exciting events programme and an understanding the priorities for library services are key aspects of this position. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in libraries, books, reading, and IT systems within a library or similar cultural context. Flexibility in working evenings, weekends, and bank holidays is required.

This is a demanding but rewarding role, where no two days are ever the same!

Job responsibilities:

To manage the day-to-day operation of the library
To manage the customer service staff
To deliver excellent front of house customer service to all users
To comply with all Health & Safety legislation and be aware of your role in managing emergencies and accident reporting

Preferred requirements:

Experience of working in frontline service delivery/customer service industry
Knowledge of library services
Staff management experience
Experience of building/premises management
