Summary

Support Worker

About me I am 51-year-old female with physical and mental health issues.

I like being active and its important for me to have continuity of a regular and reliable support worker.

I like spending time with female friends and would prefer a female companion.
I require support to carry out domestic tasks and accompany me out in the community and to attend health appointments.

Hours and rate of Pay I need support for 8 hours per week split between a Tuesday and Thursday, ideally 4 hours each day in the morning.
Rate of pay to be discussed at interview but will be no less than £11.44 per hour.
Hours of work can be flexible to meet both our needs and can work around school hours.
The post will include 5.6 weeks paid annual leave (pro-rata).
Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check will be required but will be paid for by the local authority.

What you would be doing

Support with everyday chores, laundry and maintaining the home environment to the required standard and supporting me to do my shopping.
Support with social and recreational outings and accompany on medical appointments.
Establish a close working relationship on a one-to-one basis.
Discuss and resolve problems as they arise.
Maintain daily written records and undertake any duties which may be reasonably allocated and fall within the scope and responsibility of the role.
Needs may vary daily; therefore hours, duties and tasks may alter on a weekly basis, but will be discussed in advance.
To undertake any training as appropriate for the role.

The person I would like

Someone who likes dogs, enjoys being active, who has the skills to give me support with building my confidence, self-esteem & promoting my independence.

Some knowledge and experience with working with people with learning disabilities and mental health issues.

You should have a genuine interest in the provision of high-quality care, be able to work flexible hours and be a good communicator and also possess the motivation to develop trust and understanding within the role.
