Summary

An excellent opportunity has arisen to join Cheshire West and Chester Council as a Choice Based Lettings Advisor on a permanent basis.

The Choice Based Lettings Officer works as part of a small team delivering the West Cheshire Homes service, which involves processing and verification of housing register applications from residents of Cheshire West who are in housing need.

The successful candidate will provide excellent customer care, including telephone, face-to-face and web-based communication.

You will work within a busy and fast-paced service, to provide a pro-active service to individual customers requiring one to one support in relation to West Cheshire Homes applications or bidding activity and to answer enquiries relating to West Cheshire Homes/Housing Allocations policy and individual applications from customers, partners and wider stakeholders.. The role will be varied and will require a person who can easily learn processes and retain information.

You will have experience and competency in managing a busy workload and/or working in a multi-disciplinary service and will be highly proficient at using IT systems to input and manage customer information. The role will require a high level of oral and written skills, and knowledge of housing / homelessness policies, statutory responsibilities and general information on housing options. Excellent communication skills will be essential.

This role is a Office Based Worker, but currently including home based working and this means that the role will work at the most effective locations and at the most effective times, respecting the needs of the task, the customer, the individual and the team.
