Our Organisation
Nelson and Colne College Group is made up of a family of colleges – Nelson & Colne College, Lancashire Adult Learning and Accrington & Rossendale College. Our College Group is now the only Further Education college in Lancashire to be graded as ‘Outstanding’ under the new Ofsted inspection framework.

Together the Group forms a Sixth Form, Skills and Technology Centre, University Centre, Employer Training and Adult Learning Provider delivering exceptional teaching and learning to all ages and at all levels.

The Exciting Role
The College Group is looking for a Head of Communications to join our expanding Marketing and Communications Team. This role will be predominantly based at Lancashire Adult Learning however flexibility is required in this role as the successful candidate will also be required to travel across any of the College campuses (Nelson and Colne College and Accrington and Rossendale College).

What You Will Be Doing:
• Developing and delivering a communications strategy for each area of the Group to support learner attraction and protect and enhance reputation
• Leading on the strategic direction of NCCG’s communications and overseeing delivery, including: PR, digital strategy, stakeholder engagement, crisis communications, and internal communications.
• Providing strategic and operational internal and external communications advice to curriculum leads and senior management to support delivery of key business priorities
• Identifying PR opportunities and leading on media campaigns to enhance the reputation of the Group with key audiences
• Developing a crisis communications strategy and advising senior leaders on communications issues and implementing crisis communications plans
• Leading on stakeholder mapping and the development of impactful stakeholder communications
• Developing and delivering an internal communication strategy to increase engagement and enhance understanding of the organisational vision and business priorities
• Line-managing, developing and delivering personal development plans for the communications team

What We Are Looking For:
• Degree Level Qualification in a relevant field
• CIPR qualification
• Experience managing a team
• Experience developing, measuring and reporting on KPIs
• Experience managing media on a national, regional and local level
• Experience developing and delivering impactful integrated communications campaign
• Highly creative with a proven track record of innovation
