  • This is an opportunity to take on a critical role within the first line of defence Privacy Centre of Excellence and deliver a right first time culture across the function
  • We’ll look to you to manage the privacy and data protection requirements, making sure they are clearly interpreted and robustly and effectively implemented, and associated risks are minimised across the function
  • You’ll be recognised for doing the right thing for our customers, putting their interests at the heart of all you do and at the centre of all activities
  • We’re offering this role for a period of 11 months

What you'll do

As a Privacy Manager, you’ll be providing expertise and guidance to colleagues across the function at all levels in response to data protection and privacy queries. You’ll be driving collaboration across the function to ensure an effective and up to date awareness of data protection and privacy policy, while engaging with each area within the function to provide data protection training and help identify high risk processes.

You’ll also be responsible for:

  • The quality control of our current privacy model, business gap identification and remediation for the function, to prevent issues escalating or customer concerns being raised
  • Undertaking privacy impact assessments, managing personal data breaches and providing SME input to customer complaints and regulatory enquiries
  • Making sure all customer communications are GDPR and PECR compliant and meet the requirements of the Information Commissioner's Office, and are clear, fair and evidence fair outcomes for customers
  • Embedding processes to deliver a consistent approach to all stakeholders
  • Supporting a continuous improvement culture and making sure best practices and learnings are shared across the business areas and forums

The skills you'll need

We’re looking for someone who is either legally qualified or is CIPP/E qualified or equivalent, with experience of the industry, including the regulatory and commercial environment.

You’ll also need:

  • The ability to absorb complex information and implement solutions that are simple, easy and fair
  • A strong background in managing key stakeholders and the ability to influence senior management
  • Knowledge of the relevant legal policies, regulations as well as an understanding of risk management and control
