Job Description:
Birmingham Children's Trust is seeking a dedicated and experienced Chef. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing a variety of nutritious and appealing meals that cater to the dietary, cultural, and religious needs of the children and staff at Camborne House.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare meals in accordance with daily menus, focusing on special diets and cultural requirements.
Maintain high standards of hygiene and health & safety in the kitchen and dining areas.
Plan menus, order supplies, and manage budgets as necessary.
Ensure all meals are presented creatively and to a high standard.
Participate in the preparation and provision of buffets for special events and occasions.
Undertake administrative duties related to kitchen operations, including maintaining accurate records.
Work independently to ensure meals are prepared and served on time.
Requirements:
Recognised catering qualification (e.g., City and Guilds) and a current Food Hygiene Certificate or equivalent.
Experience in cooking for diverse cultural backgrounds.
Strong understanding of health and safety standards and hygiene regulations.
Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
