Summary


The post holder will be responsible for oversight of professional development of

Dental Foundation trainees.



You will be part of a team responsible for monitoring and improving standards for Dental Foundation training across the region. You will co-ordinate quality-assessment and management of educational and clinical supervisors (trainers) relevant to the needs of Dental Foundation training.

Please note this is a 3 year Fixed Term role.

To monitor the professional development of Foundation Dentists on the scheme assigned and report this to the regional AD for Foundation Training

To ensure that this quality management process byNHS Englandconforms to guidance within the Dental Blue (Foundation) Guide

To manage an allocated Dental Foundation Scheme withinNHS EnglandNW Dental Foundation Training (DFT) Programme

The allocation of TPDs to individual schemes will be at the discretion of the Regional PGDD and AD for Foundation Training

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.

TPDs should expect to ‘rotate’ to different ‘schemes’ when requested by AD to best optimise QM of the programme, trainers and foundation training practices

To work as an integral part of the Dental Foundation Training Programme team to develop quality-based training for Foundation Dentists in the NW programmes to both national and regional standards
