Job Description:
Barnet Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Occupational Therapist (Grade J) to join our Communities, Adults & Health team on a full-time basis. This position is a temporary cover for a secondment and offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of adults with disabilities in our community.

Key Responsibilities:

Comprehensive Assessments: Conduct Care Act compliant occupational therapy assessments for adults aged 18+ with disabilities, ensuring a holistic approach to their needs.

Clinical Reasoning: Demonstrate sound clinical reasoning in all assessments and interventions, ensuring high-quality care and support.

Equipment Prescription: Prescribe simple and complex equipment to support individuals in their daily living activities, including conducting thorough risk assessments and Manual Handling assessments.

Major Adaptations: Understand and apply major adaptation criteria, recommending and facilitating major adaptations, including referring for a Disabled Facilities Grant as necessary.

Collaboration: Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team, including social workers, healthcare professionals, and external agencies to ensure comprehensive support for service users.

Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in line with Barnet Council’s policies and procedures.

Professional Development: Stay informed about best practices and developments in occupational therapy, ensuring continuous professional development and adherence to regulatory standards.
