Summary
A unique opportunity has arisen here at Liverpool University Hospitals for a Volunteer Co-ordinator to join our well-established Volunteer Department. The Volunteer Department provides a service that is integral to the strategic objectives of the trust, offering vital support to patients, families, carers, staff and visitors.
Reporting to the Voluntary Services Manager, the post holder will work across all Hospital Sites to support department managers with the recruitment and placement of volunteers across the organisation.
This is fixed term secondment opportunity to work as part of a team that is striving to improve patient experience with a wide range of volunteering activity across all sites at Liverpool University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
To have an understanding of the volunteer service and an appreciation of the concerns, queries from volunteers and other services and departments.
To provide support to the Voluntary Services Manager and Voluntary Service Development Lead as required.
To act as liaison between new volunteers and Trust staff to provide appropriate volunteer placements.
To develop, co-ordinate and maintain reporting systems within the volunteer service.
To co-ordinate all volunteer placements and work with the Trusts Wider Participation Team regarding work experience placements.
To provide continuous administration and operational support to ensure the smooth and effective running of the departments events and training throughout the year.
Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust was created on 1 October 2019 following the merger of two adult acute Trusts, Aintree University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust.
