We’re looking for an experienced housing professional to help deliver our housing management service. With knowledge of social housing, neighbourhood management, tenancy management and sustaining tenancies, you will help deliver a high quality and effective service to customers.

Working within the wider Housing Operations Team, day to day, you will oversee a team of Tenancy Sustainment Officers and Housing Assistants. You will work closely with the Tenancy Services Manager to develop and deliver high quality housing services and improve our neighbourhoods. You will be responsible in supporting the team of Housing Officers; providing them with advice on tenancy matters and giving advice on appropriate tenancy action when necessary. This will entail you being required to undertake reactive visits when necessary to support Housing Officers or respond to urgent tenancy matters throughout the Borough, this will require you to have access to your own transport as these visits will be at short notice and of an urgent nature.

Along with the Tenancy Services Manager, you will be the lead officer for coordinating the key strategic priorities of the service area, which are sustaining tenancies, improving neighbourhoods through the Neighbourhood Strategy and improving customer engagement within the service. You will play a key role in shaping services and decisions and problem solving at a neighbourhood level and you will seek to develop and maintain better partnerships to enable better services to be delivered within neighbourhoods.

You will also work closely with the Tenancy Services Manager to ensure that the team achieves its performance targets in relation to tenancy management and anti-social behaviour.

We’re looking for an individual who has proven experience of:
• Working within a housing management setting
• Working with vulnerable people and providing high quality customer service
• Good knowledge of the legislation pertaining to housing management
• Improving housing and neighbourhood management services and involving
customers within the service
• Building effective partnerships and working closely with other teams

The ideal candidate will have:
• A great track record for providing excellent customer services
• The ability to lead and motivate a wider team
• Excellent communication skills and able to communicate well with a variety of
different groups
• A strong performance management focus
• Someone who will represent our values and behaviours
• Access to own transport
• Highly experienced and competent housing officer
• Proven track record of managing complex cases
• Ability to support team members and provide case advice and guidance
• Skills and ability to be an effective manager – for the right candidate training will be provided

What you need to know:
• This is a permanent role based at the Council Offices, Beeston, but office and
remote working in the Borough is possible and encouraged within the role
• Working hours are 37 hours per week, with business hours Monday to Friday
8.30am – 5pm
• There will be a requirement to work outside of office hours on occasions and
you will need to visit properties and neighbourhoods within the Borough
regularly and at short notice
• Training to help you in the role is available
• Travel across the Borough is essential, and mileage will be paid
