The Recruitment Co are currently looking for an Electrical Design Engineer, to join an expanding controls team for one of our Turnkey project Engineering clients.

What to Expect:

  • Perform tasks as assigned by the Controls Division Manager.
  • Use AutoCAD software to create electrical designs.
  • Develop engineered solutions based on specifications under the supervision of the Electrical Contract Manager.
  • Participate in all project phases, from enquiry and concept design to detailed design.
  • Report design progress and forecasts to the Electrical Contract Manager.
  • Attend client and sub-contractor meetings to provide technical expertise and project support.
  • Produce test documents and attend Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) at panel manufacturers' premises.
  • Stay updated on the latest developments in electrical engineering.


What we need from you:

  • Engineering qualification at Level 4 or higher (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and cable design software.
  • Working knowledge of BS EN 60204 and BS 7671 for compliant design production.
  • At least 5 years of relevant design experience.
  • Experience in control panel and MCC design, preferably with Siemens equipment.
  • Knowledge of industrial control systems, including electrical distribution equipment, motor control centers, and PLC control panels.
  • Skilled in producing single-line diagrams, schematics, bills of materials (BOM), cable calculations, and cable schedules.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work proactively both independently and as part of a small team.


Desirable Knowledge and Experience:

  • Understanding of AC/DC drive systems.
  • Familiarity with hydraulic systems.
  • Experience with Safety Related Control Systems in accordance with BS EN IEC 62061 or BS EN ISO 13849.
  • Experience with installation and commissioning procedures is an advantage.
