NIHR Bristol Biomedical Research Centre carries out translational research which focuses on developing and evaluating new treatments, identifying how diseases are caused and how they progress, developing innovative research methods and analysing large data sets.

NIHR Bristol Clinical Research Facility (CRF) carries out early phase translational and experimental medicine research in hospitals in Bristol.

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic facilitator to join our Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) team. This position is well suited to an individual that is looking to advance their career in PPIE and gain hands on experience in an innovative and supportive workplace. This fixed-term, full-time role and will include some time in our central Bristol office and surrounding locations as required.

The postholder will support Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) work across the BRC and CRF, including bringing together a group of young people from across the region to help researchers with their projects. They will work closely with research staff across a number of projects, support delivery of training in public involvement and identify, support and facilitate members of the public to contribute to groups, and other methods of engagement.

The post holder will have experience of developing, supporting and facilitating public engagement, preferably in the NHS or academic setting. Experience of youth, community work or other similar roles and of working within an environment of diverse backgrounds, including those who have English as an additional language.
