Uphall Primary School is seeking to appoint a highly motivated Pupil Support Worker within our school staff team. The successful candidate will join supportive staff team and will work across the classes of the school either in class or with targeted interventions. The role will also involve supporting over pupil breaks and lunchtimes.
This post is considered Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scotland Act 2007. From 28 February 2011 preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council.
As a result of government regulation, the employment of a Pupil Support Worker in West Lothian Council requires registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
Upon successful appointment as a Pupil Support Worker you will have 6 months to become fully registered with the SSSC. Failure to hold full registration within 6 months of working in West Lothian will result in your immediate removal from your post.
SSSC stipulate you must submit your application within three months of your start date
