This is a exciting opportunity to join the Craniofacial Unit, within the Plastic Surgery Department at Oxford University NHS Foundation Trust.

You will provide strong, professional leadership to the administrative teams you manage, within Craniofacial and work in partnership with the Service/Operational Manager and with the other Assistant Service Managers within the specialist surgery Directorate.

You will engage all staff groups in the development, delivery and sustainment of innovative and effective management systems to ensure maximum operational efficiency within the Division.

You will ensure that staff within the department are aware of, and working towards, the Trust's vision and the specific objectives and operational targets of the specialty.

To co-ordinate the activity of the multi-disciplinary supra-regional craniofacial team, ensuring the delivery of coordinated and timely care for patients referred to the Craniofacial Unit, and to maintain national guidelines and Highly Specialised Services (HSS) standards for Craniofacial services. To maintain an overall view of elective waiting lists to ensure that patients are seen and treated within the national and local targets and that patient pathways are appropriately recorded. To be responsible for ensuring that robust systems are in place to achieve delivery of these standards and targets.

To manage the administrative function of the Oxford Craniofacial Unit, ensure that patient and clinical data is appropriately collected, analysed, and reported to the relevant internal and external groups and make informed decisions regarding the working practices of the Unit

To facilitate and coordinate members of the unit to attend national and international meetings to promote the scientific and clinical work of the unit.

To provide direct line management and supervision of the administrative & clerical staff in the Craniofacial Unit

To maintain robust communications with service managers and clinical staff from the other three supra regional craniofacial units.

To ensure that all local processes are in line with Trust and National processes

To review and improve data quality within Oxford Craniofacial Unit

To work with clinical service units to simplify administrative processes to ensure an efficient and effective pathway to support the delivery of patient care

To deliver training to directorate staff on processes and mechanisms for patient documentation on the Trust Electronic Patient Record

To ensure that all activity is appropriately captured and coded to maximise income for the services and the directorate
