Microsoft Data Engineer
A premier provider of end-to-end solutions in the Testing, Inspection, Certification, and Compliance sector are seeking a Microsoft Data Engineer to join the team. They employ a market leading team of experts who deliver a wide range of engineering services.
Over recent years, they have expanded significantly, this growth has enhanced their team and service offerings, aligning perfectly with their customer's needs.
The head office is centrally located in Manchester, this role will be hybrid, with 2 days per week on site. To support their ambitious growth plans, we are looking for a Microsoft Data Engineer to join them.
Role Overview
In this role, you will apply and enhance your skills by delivering data and insights to drive change across the business. You will be instrumental in improving the Microsoft Azure-based strategic data platform, managing integration's, processing data from Dynamics 365, producing dashboards for critical business decisions, and supporting predictive analysis projects.
Key Responsibilities
Utilize the latest Microsoft technologies: SQL Server Integration Services, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Analysis Services, Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Factory, and Power BI.
Ensure successful completion of daily data processing routines and schedules.
Collaborate with the development team to maintain high availability, scalability, and optimal performance of database servers.
Develop a robust architecture for data processing that meets quality and SLA requirements.
Conduct root cause analysis, provide remediation options, and deliver solutions, including early lifecycle support.
Understand and document business requirements, evaluate options, and propose suitable solutions.
Translate business requirements into design specifications using strong stakeholder management skills.

Qualifications and Experience
Experience with modern data platforms using Microsoft Azure technologies and services.
Proven experience as a Microsoft SQL Server Database Administrator.
Strong architectural understanding of the Microsoft Stack, including SQL Server Database Engine and Azure Database components.
Expertise in T-SQL, including stored procedures, temp tables, and CTE's with performance tuning.
Proficiency in developing SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) solutions and Azure Data Factory.
Demonstrable experience using GIT for CI/CD source control in Azure.
Proficiency in developing cascading, parameterized reports using SQL Server Reporting Service and Power BI.
Strong understanding of data modeling concepts.
