To support our ‘Compliance First’ approach, we are looking for an Asbestos Compliance Surveyor, to join the Asbestos Team, which sits within the wider Compliance and Building Safety Team. The Asbestos Team ensure that all requirements relating to asbestos safety management are effectively delivered and communicated.
The role
You will be part of a cohesive and supportive team of asbestos safety professionals in an organisation that values all aspects of property safety. You will support with the day-to-day management and delivery of the Housing Plus Groups’ statutory compliance obligations, specifically but not restricted to asbestos management quality assurance and compliance of work completed by Housing Plus Group contractors [internal/external] and other compliance service providers.
The successful candidate will work closely with and report to the Asbestos and Water Hygiene Compliance Manager. You will be providing technical guidance and support in line with best practice to other key stakeholders, internal and external.
You will support the Asbestos and Water Hygiene Compliance Manager with on-going management of portfolio in relation to asbestos management, ensuring that compliance requirements are achieved and that the Group meets its’ key corporate objective of being a ‘sector leader’ in relation to health & safety and compliance.
What skills and experience we are looking for:
To hold BOHS P402 Asbestos Surveying and Sampling or equivalent (essential)
To hold P405 - Management of Asbestos in Building or equivalent (desirable)
To hold CSCS, Nebosh and a general certificate in H&S at work or equivalent such as SSSTS or SMSTS (desirable)
Awareness or working knowledge of Legionella Water Safety Regulations (desirable)
Understanding and knowledge of building maintenance (desirable)
Current and previous experience of working in a contractor or client-based role.
Previous experience of managing contractors within the Asbestos Management field on both commercial and residential sites
Property management experience with good knowledge of property maintenance and building construction
You will have demonstrable people management experience, commercial knowledge, and compliance knowledge.
A good verbal and written communicator, a team player with demonstrable organisational skills and able to work through workflow processes accurately and in a timely manner.
Excellent customer relationship management skills
