Are you a Sonographer? Do you have a case accredited qualification in Medical Ultrasound and experience in Obstetrics, Gynae and General Medical Ultrasound? Then consider a move to the Ultrasound team at Manchester Foundation Trust based within the city of Manchester.

Manchester University Hospital Foundation Trust (MFT) is the leading Trust for teaching, research, and specialist services in the Northwest of England. This

post is open for Sonographers and Midwife Sonographers. The department where the majority of the Obs and Gynae work will occur is based in St Mary's Hospital (SMH) - a tertiary referral hospital for Women with 10,000 plus deliveries per year; the General Medical work will take place at other MFT sites. There are other opportunities available at our other sites located throughout the city.

Across sites we have new Siemens Redwood and Sequoia Ultrasound scan machines. We offer a high quality and specialised service throughout all stages of pregnancy and gynaecology well as abdominal ultrasound, MSK, Head and Neck and Small parts ultrasound.

Providing an efficient Ultrasound service and a welcoming atmosphere for patients in bright and modern surroundings, you'll be a vital member of a team of dedicated sonographers who work together to deliver the best possible service and patient care.

To succeed, you'll need proven Ultrasound experience, the ability to communicate

Effectively, with a wide range of patients and their carers. Flexibility in your approach to work is essential. There is an ongoing training programme for trainee sonographers and midwives, providing a young dynamic team and you will be required to provide teaching input and mentoring with the support of our clinical tutor in ultrasound.

In return, the Directorate offers education and training for all staff with continuing professional development opportunities such as working with the Fetal Medicine Team, following up on any abnormalities detected. This is available as St Mary’s is the tertiary referral centre for the whole of the Northwest of England and as such offers a unique professional development opportunity.

We are currently able to offer a Recruitment and Retention Premium after 12 months service.
