Summary


The role is for an effective, compassionate and innovative Principal Psychologist with expertise in serving patients who have experienced childhood trauma. Shaping and leading delivery, evaluation, teaching, and supporting others within a multiprofessional service delivering holistic paediatric care in a paediatric health context. The NHS Children and Young People Gender Service (South West) includes clinical services, research and quality improvement, training and consultation. Clinicians also work with other paediatric or staff support services.
• To contribute to development, coordination, clinical care and leadership, to ensure the systematic provision of a psychology service to the NHS Children and Young People’s Gender Service (South West) and personally provide highly specialist clinical input (direct and indirect) with regard to CYP and their families who have experienced trauma, and its management within NHS partnership providers.
• To provide training, clinical supervision and consultation as appropriate, functioning as a lead specialist in the sub area of the CYP Gender Service and the wider Psychological Health Service
• To undertake joint working, consultation, training and service development activities, with the other MDT clinicians and in partnership with health and social care organsiations..
• To undertake, coordinate and supervise psychological research, service evaluation and audit activity both uni-professionally and in collaboration with other professional groups within the programme, covered by this post.
• To provide day-to-day management and professional supervision of staff employed within Psychological Health Services.
