Contract Type: 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per. Full Time, Permanent.



Location: Paignton, Devon



We are seeking a Learning Support Mentor to join our Reengagement team to mentor young people who have been out of mainstream education/training for a variety of different reasons. You will be required to:



Support learners to engage positively on alternative curriculum pathways and encourage them to take part in learning activities, both in and out of the classroom.

Provide pastoral and coaching support to individuals to enable them to progress positively towards their chosen destinations.

Work with individuals to identify and remove any barriers towards learning.

Enable learners to improve their personal and study skills; developing strategies with them to overcome any challenges, foster independence and increase their self-determination.

Organise and support activities, both on and off-site, such as community projects, trips and visits, work experience and practical activities to suit individual learning programmes.



The successful candidate must have the desire to work with disadvantaged and disengaged young people to make a positive impact on their lives, coupled with a cheerful and enthusiastic disposition. A relevant Level 2 qualification (GCSE A-C / 4-9) or equivalent in Maths and English is essential, alongside a relevant mentoring/coaching qualification.

Experience of working with young people on a 1:1, or small group basis is essential, alongside excellent IT, communication and interpersonal skills.
