The Home...

Welcome to Madeira House, where we help Residents live meaningful lives in a safe, supportive environment. Situated just a ten-minute walk from the town centre and on a major bus route, our Care Home in Louth, is run by a compassionate and dedicated team providing person-centred care.

The medical, physical and emotional wellbeing of all Residents is the top priority of our care and support teams. We’re able to provide residential care in Louth for those living with Dementia or Parkinson’s Disease, as well as palliative care and convalescence stays. We can also offer some rooms for couples to share.

Your Duties...


Work with the Home Manager and Head of Dementia & Wellbeing to engage with and implement Advinia’s Wellbeing and Engagement Programme - S.P.E.C.S.
Design and organise, in conjunction with Residents, a range of person-centred stimulating meaningful and engaging activities within the Home.
Develop, manage and coordinate new and ongoing meaningful engagement programmes that encourage Residents to maintain pre-existing interests and hobbies.
Encourage Colleagues, Residents, Relatives and Friends to participate in the Home's meaningful engagement programme and help to embed a whole home approach to activities.
Arrange trips and outings to enable Residents to engage in offsite activities to maintain their hobbies and interests.
Support with creating an engaging and stimulating environment throughout the Home that is appropriate to the needs of Residents.
In conjunction with the Home Manager agree and undertake fundraising opportunities to supplement activities budget.
Maintain an activities budget, in conjunction with the Home Manager for the provision of resources, outings and entertainment.
Maintain full and accurate records of activity budget spend.
Encourage, involve and support Residents with deciding on the range of activities that take place within the Home through the development of a Resident’s Committee, ensuring all Residents have a voice and the opportunity to contribute and provide feedback.
Ensure risk assessments have been completed for all activities and outings and reviewed as appropriate.
Maximise the use of resources that are available to support with delivering meaningful and engaging activities such as; Band App, Advinia Monthly themes, Moments that Matter initiative, My Life TV, Daily Sparkle, Advinia Virtual Tours.
To participate in and develop activities based on Advinia’s monthly activity themes, incorporating each of the areas of the S.P.E.C.S programme.
Recognise that some Residents may not want to (or are unable to) participate in group/ communal activities and therefore plan individualised 1-2-1 activities as appropriate.
