Summary


We are looking for Bank Biomedical Support Workers to join our team to work on the Bank.

You will be required to receive patients’ samples from within and outside of the hospital, prioritise them appropriately and process them through to the analysis areas. You will also be required to answer the results line phone and field queries from other healthcare professionals.
• Work in a safe manner and in accordance with trust Health and Safety Policies.
• Follow all policies and procedures, seeking advice where appropriate from senior staff.
• To carry out the pre analytical processing of samples received into the laboratories.
• To communicate test results by telephone and to provide general enquires service via telephone.

• Able to provide specimen reception services during out of hours if required. Can cover all shifts ,early, Late, weekends and bank holidays.
• Use of the laboratory computer including accurate inputting of test request information into the Pathology computer system.
• Participation in any staff rotations operating within the Directorate.
• To provide guidance and training to members of staff as appropriate.
• Safe receipt and handling of laboratory specimens.
