Summary
Main Duties/Key Tasks - Coding: Reviewing all incoming clinical correspondence (electronic and post), filing the electronic documents, and entering important information into the patients electronic medical record/clinical system with attention to QOF. Be familiar with SNOMED CT code system and be consistent in approach to coding data. To be fully knowledgeable with all aspects of the clinical system (EMIS Web); to have knowledge of coding procedures, knowledge of medical terminology, anatomical and physiological terms. Organising the medical record of patients to link problem titles, use judgment to analyse and translate cases where the procedures/morbidity data is not easily codable. Operates mainly on own initiative but to refer more complex issues as appropriate to doctor or manager. Scanning of letters and relevant correspondence into patients notes. To be familiar with the use of templates and protocols and a good understanding of the search facilities within the EMIS systems. May be required to audit information at the request of GPs, Nurses or Managers. Have an insight of summarising patients notes and checking data quality of those notes received by GP2GP. An understanding of processing patient deductions and registrations and managing flow of Lloyds George to A4 files. Pro-actively initiate data quality improvement projects when needed. To be fully compliant with the Information Governance; data sharing and regulations around data protection and GDPR. Main Duties/Key Tasks Administrator: Ordering - regularly monitoring and purchasing clinical and office consumables necessary to the daily operation of the practice. Calibration & PAT testing arranging the calibration of medical equipment and PAT testing of electronic equipment in the practice ensuring health and safety standards are maintained. Smear Recall reviewing the electronic lists sent to the practice from the Cervical Screening Administration on a weekly basis to ensure patients are invited appropriately and in the case of non-responders sending a reminder message to encourage booking an appointment. Flu and Covid Campaign planning and staffing of clinics in the practice and ensuring delivery of the clinics run smoothly, coordinating home visits to housebound patients, regularly reviewing data, and using all resources to maximise uptake of eligible cohorts. Safeguarding Admin ensuring documents relating to MARACs, DRAMs, Looked after Children and Child Protection are scanned on the patient record, coded appropriately, and brought to the attention of the practice safeguarding leads. NHS Health Check Admin Running searches and inviting eligible patients to book appointments to maximise uptake. Pessary Recall monitoring a list of pessary patients and ensuring they are reminded to book in for regular reviews with the appropriate GP. Nurse Admin working closely with nurses to ensure PGDs are kept to up to date, assisting with queries and ordering clinical consumables. Medical Student Placement Admin compiling an appropriate placement timetable for medical students from the University of Leeds and being their first point of contact in the practice. Other duties that from time to time are commensurate with the range of tasks outlined above.
