The position of Team Leader is in a front-line Children with Disabilities Team. This Team covers all of Perth and Kinross and works with some of the most vulnerable children in our society.

You will be responsible for a team of social workers, senior social care officers and a carer support worker.

You will be responsible for the overall management of the team and the SDS budget spend, so will need the necessary skills and experience to do this competently.

As Team Leader you will also be responsible for the improvement agenda, building and retaining community relations with partner agencies and have the ability to develop your team plans to meet the necessary improvement goals.

The Individual

You will be a qualified social worker with significant experience in childcare social work.

You will have a Social Work degree or equivalent.

It is essential that you have experience of assessing children with disabilities within statutory services and a sound knowledge of the core legislation underpinning this area of work.

Duties of the post include ensuring a high quality of service delivery, working in partnership with other agencies and contributing to operational planning. You will also lead on child protection work and chair relevant meetings.

You will be expected to record and monitor work using electronic case recording systems requiring knowledge and/or experience of Mosaic or equivalent.

You will have supervisory experience as you will provide supervision and workload management to workers to enable you to oversee and guide best practice in relation to keeping vulnerable children safe and supported.

You will have the capacity to develop and motivate a team ethos which encourages commitment to improvement and best practice.

You will support the team and implement any changes that are necessary in conjunction with the team.

You will hold a Child Protection Certificate.

You will need to be open minded, flexible and be able to identify and manage the stresses that will come with the responsibilities of this post.

You will have experience in approving and overseeing Self Directed Support.

You must have a valid driving licence as this post requires you to travel to a variety of locations across Perth and Kinross.
