Summary
The role of the Simulation Technician is to provide effective and efficient delivery of technical and administrative support to the simulation faculty.
To co-ordinate the use with the maintenance of all simulation training equipment within the Trust. The post holder will act as a professional resource for all members of the hospital team and act a key resource for simulation training. The post holder will be responsible for maintaining an asset register of all simulation equipment. The post holder will maintain high standards of simulation training through audit and act on any issues identified. The post holder will be expected to work with training faculty across the Trust and regionally to provide simulation training which will be used to support improvements in the delivery of patient care by skilling staff in the training environment. Professional registration with The Science Council or equivalent is required if not already obtained.

Be responsible for managing and prioritising own work load and maintaining accurate records. Has the ability to analyse and interpret a range of clinical and technical information. Ensure the simulation suite provides a supportive environment. The post holder will manage their own workload. The post holder is responsible for maintaining an up to date asset register, an up to date service and cleaning log of all simulation equipment. The post holder will facilitate training programmes in the preparation, setting up of the simulation equipment, the room, computer programming of simulation scenarios and the use of high-teh audio-visual equipment (SMOTS) both in the simulation suite and in clinical areas. To assist simulation faculty in running of of scenarios by running the software control programme and use evaluation as a guide to develop simulation training.
