Summary

Are you a Support Worker and looking to help us make a difference to our young customers?

We are looking for a Youth Support Worker to join our passionate and supportive team in Malvern on a fixed term contract until 31st March 2025. In this role you will co-ordinate the life skills programme and provide support to improve wellbeing to 16–25-year-olds.

You will also provide a flexible, preventative and practical support service to promote independence and build resilience alongside delivering the accredited life skills programme. Having regular contact with customers with a range of emotional and challenging behaviours, you will be working on an individual and group basis to prevent homelessness, address personal support needs, provide access to training, education or employment.

Other duties include managing all communal areas of Platform Housing’s accommodation provided for young people through regular building management inspections, monitoring health and safety, repairs and testing equipment. You will monitor and manage customer’s tenancies/licences, identifying any problems which may lead to breaches of tenancy/license, such as rent arrears, ensuring early and effective intervention.

The role is part time at 25.75 hours per week. You will be working on a four-week rota, working a mixture of daytime and evening shifts between 8am and 12am which will also include sleep-ins. You will therefore need to flexible to cover shift patterns.

Experience of working closely with customers to tackle complex issues.

The ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.

You will be resilient with the ability to handle challenging behaviours and conversations.

Due to there being some lone working, you will have the ability to work independently and being an effective decision maker.

An enhanced DBS check is required for this role.
