We are currently on the lookout for a Career Advisor to join us at Get Set in our Portsmouth office.

Our Career Advisors deliver sustainable employment solutions to our customers and proactively support them to maintain employment and have long-term success. They motivate and help to improve skills and capabilities whilst assessing customer needs and barriers with integrity to create action plans to address concerns. Ultimately, we help customers become job-ready with employer-led advice and guidance.

Your Impact:

  • Provide careers advice and guidance in a one-to-one setting or group workshops to support customers with their career aspirations.
  • Help customers identify and consider the range of training and career choices available to them and outline possible ways forward, using a range of tools and resources.
  • Discuss with customers how to overcome any barriers to reaching their goals and signpost them to other agencies for advice where appropriate.
  • Undertake administration duties to ensure that all delivery evidence is complete and compliant in line with contract and quality standards.
  • Produce an action plan for employment, education, and training to help customers achieve their goals.
  • Business Develop to attract new customers and partnerships to the service, this could include community organisations, Job Centre Plus, training providers, and Higher Education

Who we seek:

  • Level 3 qualification in Careers/IAG.
  • Experience of working in Careers/IAG.
  • Good knowledge of careers related to IT applications.
  • Excellent IT skills include Microsoft Office packages and Management Information Systems.
  • A high level of communication, empathy, and listening skills and the ability to analyse problems and propose solutions.
  • Target Driven individual looking to exceed expectations and willing to progress within the company.
  • Able to accurately manage diary productivity.
  • Demonstrable record of working flexibly and using own initiative.
  • Demonstrable record of achievement against objectives and targets.
