Lead Administrator – Land Command & Staff College (LCSC)
UK Defence Academy

Serco have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Administrators to join our team based at the Defence Academy in Shrivenham, Swindon. The Course Administration department is currently working through a transformation project to enhance service delivery, and the Defence College for Military Capability Integration Team, are developing a holistic approach across the team to support the success of the project. The Lead Administrators have a key role in this project, involved in the promotion, planning and delivery across the Defence Academy.
Serco at the Defence Academy provides Facilities Management across all aspects of the site including Estates, Logistics, various Supporting Services, together with Cleaning, Catering and Waste Management through ESS.

Duties for the role:

- Taking a pro
- active role within the department and generally be fully conversant with the daily tasks.
- Liaise and attend customer & key stakeholder meetings.
- Provide administrative support for all stages of the Intermediate Command and Staff Course (Land) (ICSC(L) and Intermediate Command and Staff Course (Land Reserves) (ICSC(LR) including US ARNG and United Stated Strategic Broadening Seminar (US SBS) courses.
- Coordination and preparation of Student arrival and departure.
- Arranging course related travel.
- Data entry using various platforms.
- Liaising with external military and civilian institutions to gain relevant data.
- Cross skilling to support across the wider team.
- Mentoring and coaching of new starters
- Management of Work Instructions



What you need to do the job:

- GCSE’s (A-C) or equivalent in English and Maths.
- Sound understanding of GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation)
- Able to use a variety of communication methods (spoken, written, behaviour).
- Must be methodical, have proven organisational skills and able to work under pressure.
- Problem solving skills are a must in this role.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- It is essential that the successful candidate is PC literate, with a good level of experience in MS Office including Outlook, Word, Excel.
- You will have to gain enhanced clearance within the first 3 months of employment. Serco will arrange this on your behalf.
