About the role

We are looking for a committed and dynamic tutor to deliver on our Level 2 and Level 3 Business and Travel & Tourism courses at East Riding College, primarily in Beverley but with possible cross site teaching in Bridlington. In this exciting and rewarding role you will be responsible for the planning, preparation, delivery and assessment of the qualifications to ensure an exceptional learning experience for our students. You will maximise retention, attendance and achievement, alongside promoting learner success and progression.

Other duties will include:

Producing planning documentation such as curriculum design documents, SOW and lesson plans
Using a range of systems to monitor student progress
Organising meetings with internal or external stakeholders, including parents/carers and local employers as necessary
Support recruitment to the programmes by attending Open Events, Taster Days and giving progression talks
Plan and take part in enrichment opportunities such as trips and visits
Safeguarding responsibilities

About the person

The successful candidate will ideally have a degree in an associated subject, sector experience in either Business or Travel and Tourism sector and relevant teaching experience to ensure suitable delivery of our qualifications. You will assist in developing employer confidence and work alongside local organisations to ensure the development of practical and soft skills alongside theoretical knowledge and positive behaviour in the classroom. You will have excellent communication skills as well as strong organisational and administrative skills. For this role you will preferably hold a full teaching qualification (CertEd or PGCE) and some industry experience. Maths and English qualifications at Grade 4 or C (or equivalent) is essential.
